Forum is a digital meeting place. Fora have threads related to some topics (the word //topic// is sometimes used instead of //thread//), where people write their messages. Discussions on fora tend to be more meaningful and valuable, than on messengers.

vpub is a (boring) forum software that's inspired from PHPBB but written in go. So why didn't I call it GOBB, you ask? You wouldn't be wrong. GOBB sounds good.
